Preproduction

Pre-production is such a complicated word that not everyone is able to pronounce it for the first time. Then, of course, it gets a little easier. However, the content itself is no easier than its pronunciation. Preproduction includes all stages that go before the start of filming. This applies to filming of any genre. Film shooting, shooting a commercial will essentially have almost the same plan. They will differ from each other only by the duration of each stage and the number of personnel. Pre-production is sometimes called PPM, these are preproduction meetings, or preproduction meetings. As they say, changing the name does not change the essence.

Preproduction of a film or video begins with the idea of a director or producer to film something. Sometimes the script is already ready, sometimes there is only an idea or a book in the head that someone wants to adapt for filming. Sometimes a film already shot by someone is taken as the basis of the script, then it is called a remake. And yes, it was invented even before Kirkorov became the mainstream of remakes. We won’t forget, we won’t forgive. But the most common production is from scratch, from someone’s idea. In this case, the director writes the script himself or invites a professional screenwriter for this, who will write the text faster and often better.

Pre-production stages

Based on the literary script, the director makes up his own directorial script, which forms the basis of the film. A storyboard is compiled for the director’s script, which is then transferred to the director of photography for adaptation. DOP discusses the vision of the film with the director and suggests options for shots that will look better in terms of colors and light. The Holy Trinity (director, director of photography and artist) get together and choose the best option that suits everyone. To do this, they visit selected locations and watch the props that can be in a movie, video, TV series. Look at the projects on Instagram of our YOPRST video production.

After heated debate, the final script is born, which is given to the actors for memorization. It is this version of the script that will be further polished at readings, which can take place personally with the director or at open readings for cameras. Often they are held together with the project’s producers, who track the team’s progress and make strategic decisions. Planning at this stage is quite important, because it allows you not to get out of timing and estimates. In foreign projects, equipment or rental of locations is quite rare, props make up the bulk of the estimate. Often these are video production and editing services, and fees for team members.

Post-production

Often, the sooner a project is filmed, the lower its estimated cost will be. Of course, this does not imply a deterioration in the quality of the material, since these are also interdependent quantities. Producers must decide how to proceed in order to maintain a balance between cost and quality of the project. Sometimes the toad starts to choke too hard, and the result is “cops on NTV.” And sometimes the whole team earns decent money, works hard on the project day and night, but gives out Very strange cases. Watch BTS from this project and you will see that a team of video production company with the right approach can make a candy.

When the director says the cherished words “stop shot” in the last shooting scene, the team applauds each other. This means that the shooting is over and the post-production stage begins. Post-production includes all stages after the completion of filming and before the release of the film or before the first limited screening. If the film went to a closed screening, this does not mean that post-production is completed. At this stage, some changes can still be made to the finished project. If the focus group, after viewing, suddenly decides that the little mermaid should still be white, then they will begin to repaint it. The film will not be released until then.
